Trump Organization foreign deals in Qatar and Vietnam
Stage 1 of 5: Reported · News reporting only · Last development 25 May 2025
In April 2025 the Trump Organization announced a golf resort near Doha with Saudi developer Dar Global and Qatari Diar, which is owned by the Qatari government. The company's second-term ethics pledge said no deals would include foreign governments. In May 2025 Vietnam approved a $1.5 billion Trump golf project while it was negotiating to avoid a 46% U.S. tariff. The New York Times reported the project skipped usual environmental reviews and cut short public comment, and Vietnam's prime minister said Eric Trump's visit "motivated us to expedite this project".
The Trump Organization says its Qatar contract is only with the Saudi firm. No congressional inquiry or official review specific to these deals was found.
